Clinical Overview

Two Pathways for Support, One Clinical Foundation

At Sandhill Center, we offer both short-term assessment and longer-term therapeutic care, all rooted in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT). This research-based framework shapes every aspect of our clinical programming, helping children develop emotional regulation, build meaningful connections, and gain the skills they need for lasting growth.

S.T.A.R.T. Short-Term Assessment Track

For families seeking clarity on their child’s needs, S.T.A.R.T. is an intensive three-month program focused on assessment, stabilization, and planning. Through comprehensive evaluations and structured therapeutic support, this track helps determine the best next steps, whether that means continued treatment or transitioning back home.

Longer-Term Therapeutic Program

For children who need more time in a structured environment, our ongoing residential program provides in-depth therapeutic care grounded in NMT. With a focus on developmental needs, this program helps children strengthen emotional regulation, build resilience, and develop the skills needed for long-term success.

No matter which path a child takes, every experience at Sandhill is shaped by our trauma-responsive, neuroscience-informed approach, providing a foundation for meaningful, long-term change.
