Meet Chris DeWalt

Residential Director

Chris Dewalt began his career in 2020 at the Sandhill Center as a child-care worker. His strong leadership and dedication to client well-being quickly led to a promotion to supervisor, where he oversees a multidisciplinary team and ensures high-quality care.

In this role, Chris designs therapeutic programs, mentors new staff, and adjusts interventions based on client progress. Grounded in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), he helps youth navigate crises and regulate emotions using play-based strategies, skill-building activities, and evidence-based tools rooted in developmental neuroscience.

Outside of work, Chris is an avid outdoorsman and passionate football player. He brings the values of teamwork, discipline, and play into his therapeutic approach, believing that laughter and nature are key to building emotional resilience.

Blending clinical expertise with a playful, client-centered style, Chris is a trusted advocate for children and adolescents facing emotional and behavioral challenges.
